Outlier

    Hiring: Managing Director

    About Outlier

Outlier is a social impact accelerator with the goal of creating companies that solve problems for the underserved. Our 2-part thesis is:

    1. There’s an opportunity to create large profitable companies by solving important problems for people in developing countries.
    2. There are smart people working at companies like McKinsey and Google that don’t feel fulfilled in their jobs and want to make a meaningful impact but don’t know where to start.

We’ve designed this accelerator to help people find a problem they’re passionate about and create a scalable company to solve it. If accepted, we'll give fellows $15,000 to immerse themselves in developing countries over 3 months. The accelerator will kick off with a 1-week in-person retreat and bring together all the fellows into one place to build relationships and plan their journeys. When they return from their journeys, during the following 3 months they'll receive guidance and support to turn a problem that they're passionate about into a scalable business. The program will conclude with a demo day where they can raise funding for their companies from impact-focused investors.

Over the period of 6 months, we hope Outlier Fellows will :

    • Discover a problem they’re deeply passionate about solving.
    • Develop a scalable solution to the problem with strong economic incentives.
    • Build lifelong friendships with other Fellows.
    • Gain experiences that will change their life.

If Outlier is successful, we will help impact billions while creating profitable companies.
